The weather is hot, the sun is bright, and I want to go to the beach…but am I prepared?

We are all well aware of the dangers that prolonged or unprotected sun exposure can have on our health (such as sunburn if we don’t wear sunscreen, etc.), but if you are like me and often forget to do or apply certain products, then you definitely want to consider wearing a straw hat at the very least.  I am not talking about the overly large, floppy granny hats you probably remember seeing the old ladies wear when you were children, I am talking about hot, savvy, and uber-fashionable straw hats that will coordinate well with your outfit or your bikini.  Yes ladies, straw hats are so chic for summer!  This is an especially great tip, if like me, you go the beach more to read and show off your cutest swimwear selections rather than actually swim.  I have been browsing everywhere looking for a few that suit my taste and style the best.  I personally like the large brim hats and visors for the beach scene.  Also, many straw hats have gone glam with intricate patterns woven in with the use of various colors of straw (think: ikat) or have great details (like sequins).  You can’t lose with a sun-protecting, outfit-coordinated straw hat this season, so take your time and pick out a few that will last you many seasons to come!
