With my wild posts about peep-toes and feathered shoes, I felt it was absolutely necessary to cover a true timeless classic, the summer little black dress!
Now, as a woman, I have my fair share of LBD’s (little black dresses) for casual, work and evening wear. But now that the temperatures are skyrocketing, how can I wear the little black dress and still look fabulous? I pondered this as I scanned the racks of countless department stores and boutiques. Finally, the answer came to me in the form of the summer little black dress! To describe the summer little black dress, you have to understand this it is a dress of both form and function. If you plan on wearing the dress to work, go for an A-line style that is sleeveless and looks good with a cardigan. Summer little black dresses with a flared or ruffled skirt also work well in the work environment since they are more sweet than sexy. For a casual look, I found a great number of fun shirtdresses (both longer and shorter) that would look fabulous when I take a stroll in the park, am running errands or just walking the dog. Finally, for evening, my favorite summer little black dresses had very curve hugging silhouettes, moderate to dramatic cleavage, and were knee length. Since the little black dress is an item that is so open to a designer’s interpretation, you will definitely find one that will both suit your style and the weather!
Where have you found some great summer little black dresses?
